Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) has been a core part of GPE’s and GE’s values. The Group embarks on each ESG project after careful analysis of potential impact on the community and on the environment. Beyond engaging local or foreign experts for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) at the planning and pre-submission stages, significant efforts are made to engage local community leaders. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is planned alongside the EIA and involves projects such as improving connectivity by building roads or bridges, erecting buildings for schools or community use and donating to local communities. These efforts have been applied carefully to the various renewable energy projects undertaken by Gold Energy Company.
Gold Energy carried out a detailed Environment Impact and Social Impact Assessment (EIA & SIA) for the Taungdaw Gwin 20MW Solar project well before construction commenced in 2021.
